SANTA MONICA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ALG, the benchmark for forecasting future vehicle values and the analytics subsidiary of TrueCar, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUE), announced the winners of the 2017 Residual Value Awards, ranking Land Rover and Subaru as the top Premium Brand and Mainstream Brand, respectively.

ALG’s Residual Value Awards (RVA) recognize vehicles in 26 segments that are forecast to retain the highest percentage of their Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) after a three-year period. This year’s recipients have shown strong value in their competitive segments and were chosen from all 2017 model year vehicles on sale in the United States in the Premium and Mainstream segments. The awards will be presented to automakers this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

“Residual values are a key indicator of the overall market success and health of a vehicle and brand. Whether a consumer is looking to purchase or lease a vehicle, the largest cost consideration is how much a vehicle will retain its value over time,” said Jim Nguyen, president of ALG. “And with vehicle leasing on the rise, resale values have never been more important to both consumers and automakers.”

2017 will mark the third consecutive year that Land Rover will take home the Residual Value Award for Premium Brands. The distinguished British utility brand won an award in three of the Premium segments with the Range Rover Sport, Range Rover, and Discovery Sport winning the top spots.

Subaru also earned the top Mainstream brand award for the third consecutive year by outdoing its competitors in six segments, surpassing last year’s performance of five total awards. The Impreza is the newest model to receive an award this year, joining the Forester, Legacy, Outback, WRX and Crosstrek as RVA winners.

Another Shot At the Subaru Viziv-7

Subaru prepares another ascent into the three-row-SUV market.Subaru Vizv Concept

After axing the seven-passenger Tribeca in 2014, Subaru is preparing to re-enter the three-row, mid-size crossover SUV segment. With the Viziv-7 concept—the name Viziv stands for “Vision for Innovation”—the Japanese automaker provides our best look yet at what’s to come.

Measuring 204.7 inches long and sitting on a 117.7-inch wheelbase, the Viziv-7 is some 15 inches longer than Subaru’s Outback, and its wheelbase is more than nine inches greater. The Viziv-7 also is larger than most mainstream three-row, mid-size crossover SUVs. While the Buick Enclave, the Chevrolet Traverse, the Dodge Durango, and the Ford Flex ride on longer wheelbases, the Subaru’s overall length is greater than all four. Additionally, the Viziv-7’s 79.9-inch width and 72.0-inch height (73.2 inches including the roof rails) are tops among today’s segment offerings. Needless to say, if the Viziv-7’s dimensions carry over to the production vehicle, Subaru’s new SUV promises to dwarf the other models in the lineup as it attempts to move far beyond the cramped Tribeca.

Excellent New Subaru

Big and boxy, the Viziv-7 sports a bold grille and massive fog lights, while its headlight design and window profile echo those of the smaller Outback. If past Subaru concepts are any guide, the production vehicle can be expected to wear much tamer bodywork than the Viziv-7.

We believe the production vehicle will go by the name Ascent, given that Subaru recently registered that moniker with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Spy photographers recently caught Subaru testing its new three-row crossover, and along for comparison was both a Mazda CX-9 and a Ford Explorer; like them, we expect the Ascent to offer a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, although the 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine that’s optional in the Outback is also a possibility. We’ll know more in the coming months, as Subaru says its production three-row crossover will enter our market in early 2018

The Subaru Share The Love Event Has Returned To Dayton, OH For 2016

Subaru Shows Its Love for Canines with Therapy Dog Program Partnership

girl with dog in fall autumn leaves

If there’s one thing I have in common with Subaru…it’s a love for cars. But if there’s a second thing I have in common with Subaru, it’s a love of dogs. Pets are truly family members and can make a life-changing impact on a person. There’s nothing like the unconditional loyalty and affection of a dog.

A common feature in many of Subaru’s commercials, and a recipient of a portion of its charity work, canines are important to the automaker and its customers. Subaru is constantly proving its loyalty to our loyal companions.

For instance, just north of the border over in Ontario, Subaru Canada has announced a partnership with the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program. This new collaboration will help the program provide valuable support for those in need of a little love.

How Thrapy Dogs and Subaru Are Making a Difference

By being a Signature Sponsor of the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program, Subaru will help raise awareness, provide funds, and offer resources to help the program continue to grow and change lives.

The Barkleys are back in five new Subaru dog commercials, as part of the "Dog Tested. Dog Approved." campaign

One of the many dog-starring Subaru commercials

In the nearly 25 years the program has been around, the Ontario-based project has empowered 3,000 Therapy Dog teams to reach thousands of people in need every year. That inc

ludes offering companionship to the elderly, providing reassurance to patients during treatments, education for youth with disabilities, and anything else where there’s a need.

“The Therapy Dogs program strives to assist others in an inclusive and non-judgemental manner,” explained Joe Felstein, Director of Marketing for Subaru Canada. “It embodies the core values of caring and community that resonate with both Subaru as a brand and the entire family of Subaru owners.” The dog therapy program greatly relies on the assistance of partners like Subaru to provide the services it does in Canada.

If you don’t live in Canada, see if there are any ways you can get involved in and support a dog therapy program in your neighborhood. And if you can get enough puppy love, check out some of the great Subaru commercials featuring our furry friends.

The new 2017 Subaru Impreza will get the latest EyeSight version 3 as standard. What was their First Vehicle to Receive the Safety System?
Automotive makers are talking about their Active Driver Assist (ADA) safety systems in their vehicles these days. Little Subaru started the wave over 17 years back. Subaru was your first automaker to get started producing their ADA system called EyeSight back in 99. The new 2017 Subaru Impreza will get the latest EyeSight version 3 as standard. The original Subaru Legacy Outback (Lancaster in Japan) was your first Subaru to find the safety system.
Sept. 2010 24 marked the everlasting nature of the first Subaru EyeSight safety system using stereo cameras when it was released and installed in the Japanese Legacy of music Lancaster. Subaru has used the stereo cameras as safety devices ever since, and ADA continues to be developed to this day in the new-generation EyeSight.
World’s first system to solely use stereo audio camera technology
FHI launched the EyeSight safety system in 1999 which is the world’s first system to solely use stereo camera technology. Subaru has recently been highly successful in marketing the system in the country of Japan and says EyeSight-equipped models like the Outback accounted for an astounding 85 percent of sales in Asia for the fiscal yr ended March 31, 2015. It’s also catching on in the usa and other global markets.

2017 Impreza gets latest EyeSight version 3
Their latest EyeSight version 3 is being released on the new 2017 Impreza sedan and 5-Door models. This “Advanced Security Package” upgrades from the previous generation with a brand new rear vehicle Detection (rear side exercised support function), a side-view monitor, high beam assist and eye site four function assist monitor.
EyeSight’s technology has been highly rated by the IIHS in the U. S i9000. and also gets high marks from Japan’s impartial agency, Japan New Car Assessment Program preventive protection performance assessment. It received the top rating of Advanced Safety Vehicle-Plus (ASV+) which has been conducted since October 2014 by the Ministry of Area, Infrastructure, Transport and Vacation and the National Organization for Automotive Safety and Victims’ Aid.
Look for the new-generation 2017 Subaru Impreza sedan and 5-Door compact to find the hottest version EyeSight 3 when it launches this fall. Most automakers are touting their own security systems now. Subaru’s Musical legacy Outback was the first vehicle to launch the revolution and get the ADA safety system on September 24, 1999.

New world of possibilities for Subaru

Global Platform to underpin future lineup

The 2017 Impreza will be the first on the market built on the new Global Platform.

Subaru is switching to a new global architecture that it says will guarantee competitiveness through 2025.

The Subaru Global Platform is designed for gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid and electric powerplants. The first car on the market using the global architecture will be the redesigned Impreza compact that goes on sale at the end of the year.

Subaru is also improving its semiautonomous systems to prepare for a self-driving car in the coming decade. In 2017, Subaru will launch a new traffic-jam assist system that stops and starts a car automatically in traffic and can steer it around curves.

BRZ: The two-door that was jointly developed with Toyota has been freshened with new head- and taillights and a rear spoiler. Subaru also improved handling with updated coil springs and dampers and a larger rear stabilizer bar. The updated model goes on sale this fall. A new Performance Package version debuts in early 2017.

Subaru executives have said a second generation of the rear-wheel-drive car launched in 2012 is in the works. The new car could come in 2018.

Impreza: The redesigned four- and five-door compact goes on sale late this year. Production shifts to the Subaru factory in Indiana from Japan.

The Impreza is the first model to get Subaru’s new modular platform and to feature the brand’s new design language. The car is slightly larger; the wheelbase has grown an inch to 105.1 inches. The sedan and five-door are both 1.6 inches longer, 1.5 inches wider and 0.4 inch lower than the current car. Subaru will offer new driver-assist technology and multimedia features including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Subaru’s EyeSight system includes adaptive cruise control, automatic pre-collision braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keep assist. Options include blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and steering-responsive headlights.

A freshening is expected in 2020.

Crosstrek: The Impreza-based crossover will be redesigned in 2017.

WRX/WRX STI: The high-performance cars are expected to be redesigned in 2018 or 2019 when they switch to the new global platform. The WRX and STI are expected to get more powerful engines as Subaru continues to push them further away from the Impreza, which the current models are based on.

Legacy: A redesign of the midsize car is likely in 2019.

Forester: The compact crossover will be redesigned in 2018.

Outback: A redesign of the midsize crossover is likely in 2019.

Plug-in hybrid: A plug-in hybrid powertrain will be offered in 2018. Subaru has said it will power a vehicle in its current range rather than an all-new model. The hybrid system is being developed internally — Subaru won’t use a Toyota system.

Seven-seat crossover: Subaru’s new three-row crossover — which will replace the Tribeca — will go on sale in 2018 and be produced in Indiana. Not many details have been released, and there’s no decent spy art. The crossover is expected to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Subaru has to get the seven-seater right to cash in on the hot midsize crossover segment.
